The last waltz

The last unequivocally hot day of the year was spent in a fry pan of a row-boat in Central Park. We sat down the week before, iCals at the ready, and planned it out in the same way grown-ups plan business meetings. Not spontaneous, not free-spirited, but calculated, contrived and hey, well, we made it happened. Nothing is easier for me to forgot to do than nothing.

I have Frank to thank for bringing the disposable camera and for getting me out of the house even when I have no business getting out the the house. I'm starved for compelling reasons to stop working for a moment, especially since work is now taking up every moment I have. This is a wonderful thing when you work for yourself, I know.

But I do worry I'll wake up in November, five beautiful weddings from now, without a memory of fall. Promise you'll do all you can to not let this happen, and I'll do all I can, too.

  9. Love the photos- I always mean to rent a row boat in Central Park, but somehow never do. I know what it's like to get bogged down in something (even when it's something you love) and never stop to do other things, but scheduling time to do lovely things full of wonderful nothingness is absolutely necessary to refresh your creative mind. Plus- when the middle of winter strikes and you are frozen to your chair, you'll have these nice pictures to look back on. My fall recommendations include: visiting Storm King before it closes for winter, picking apples somewhere up state, and doing a behind the scenes tour of the Met Theater. xoxo

  17. Quick, bake some apples (or a baked good of some sort), go to farmers market (again and again, especially for fresh root vegetables-- roast them!), buy long sleeves shirts, but not sweaters, go on a walk or even a jog and gasp at the trees. That has def. been my fall. I even identify with one of the trees on my way to work, I think, ooh I want to be you, you inspire me to grow taller, metaphorically, and to be stunning, to make others happy and to enjoy my own beauty! To revel in the beauty around me... and to reflect it.

  25. Did you spot any turtles? I remember seeing heaps, sunning themselves on the rocks. It was over 44 C the day I went there. All by myself, lost in NYC.....alone on a row boat for two. Sad really but I didn't want to miss the opportunity. I wasn't sure if I'd ever be back there again. The guy I hired the row boat from looked at me pretty funny. I just said...."why not?"

  34. I have witnessed that clever real estate agents all over the place are starting to warm up to FSBO Promotion. They are recognizing that it's not just placing a sign in the front area. It's really with regards to building associations with these dealers who one of these days will become buyers. So, once you give your time and energy to aiding these traders go it alone the "Law associated with Reciprocity" kicks in. Good blog post.

  36. Every woman wants all eyes on her catier jewellery when she walks into a room. We all dress to impress, softshell jackets waiting for the moment when everybody can literally not take their eyes off you. Well, the miu miu hobo can make that happen for you. It is not just a coco chanel online; it steals the show and focuses the spotlight on you. The rich colors and impressive styles of hermes handbags online let you really appreciate what a great handbag can do for you.
