I woke up to a pair of mourning doves at my windowsill cooing, it was 6:40am but felt much earlier and darker. (Hello, daylight savings.) On went the slippers. On went the music and the frying pan and the butter. It's rare I do myself a bacon breakfast but when you have it in the fridge resistance is futile.
This song is absolutely in order.

mmmm mmmmm mmmmmm...
ReplyDeleteAye, but what's the red? Hot sauce or ketchup? (Or both?) 8-)

ReplyDeleteOh, yes.
ReplyDeleteI'm the same - if there's bacon in the fridge, I want to eat it for every meal!
Admirable, lovely photos!!
ReplyDeleteNow that's a sacramental experience. Maybe your breakfast has been eaten with more spiritual reverence than some people attend church with! Communion of eggs, bacon and bread for the wafer. Coffee for the wine.
ReplyDeleteA divine feeding of body and soul!
nteresting-I open your blog as I'm enjoying the identical breakfast, down to the Maman's raspberry jam. The only difference is mine is in the form of a sandwich.
ReplyDeleteAs an fyi, if you remember several months back you were in Annapolis with, I believe, your sister and parents, and ate at 49 West. I was your server. Haha. I enjoy your blog every time I stop by for a visit. Keep spreading the word. : )

ReplyDeleteBright Green Laces
Now that is a perfect start to the day...
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I would add to the feast is a slice of Soda bread and a bit of Potato bread (a tattie scone) and maybe a generous serve of bubble & squeak - for me there is no better pay to start the weekend than with an Ulster fry & the Velvet Underground!
Love the breakfast, love the vision, love the blog...thanks for sharing and always bringing a smile to my face.

ReplyDeleteThe traditional eggs + bacon + toast can never do you wrong. It's my staple. I wish I could eat it for lunch, and dinner, and snack and every course.

I had to Google that sauce. It's "sriracha", for the rest of you who may care, and it's a hot chili sauce used in Asia. Which I would still call "hot sauce", if it weren't for the fact that "sriracha" is so much more fun to say.
ReplyDeleteAh, my favorite kind of breakfast!
ReplyDeletevelvet underground my favorite. a good sunday no doubt
ReplyDeleteyummy i want that food in my tummy lol!!!! Please check out my blog and don't be shy you can follow me if you like it,

OH! Now I must have this breakfast on Sunday. That's the lazy morning day around my house. We putter in slippers (mine are shaped like Dutch wooden shoes!) and listen to the radio or the record player, and we fry some bacon in a cast-iron skillet. Oh, perfect.
ReplyDeleteMmmm looks perfect!
