To-do's

Walks to the bay- check.

Dog patting- check.

Antique malling, cold turkey gorging, attic rifling- check check check.

Also noteworthy- consumption of 4 pies for 3 people in 4 days. If you do the math that comes out to be 1.333 pies per person. Taking in to account the fact that my mom eats like a bird, my dad and I shouldered more of the burden than the above figure represents out of the goodness of our hearts. Because we're nice like that.

  1. Egads, as I type this I am battling the bulge of my stomach, full of aforementioned leftover turkey, stuffing, and pie. I can SO relate!

  5. How gallant of you! ;-)
My Thanksgiving was on the preparing side of things, not the relaxing side (though I did get a week off school). And that 4 AM shopping spree at Wal-Mart...never again. Scout's honor.

  6. What I love about you all in the States is the high regard you place on "PIE". We don't have a lot ot that going on down here in the antipodes...just the odd "TART" or two....but "pie", and "diner" will always be the two words I most associate with your world....now I know 2 more...."Thanksgiving"...and "Black Friday".....you can learn so much from this blogging life !

  8. for my part.. I don't know that "shouldering" a share of the pie-eating accomplishment is necessarily anatomically correct.... no doubt it was "heavy lifting" but with more of a abdominal focus.. I have just have a "gut feeling" I'm right about that..
Glad you had a nice visit!

  9. Oh my god, I love it. I love everything about this - the boots on the left, the dog, the 1.333 pies per person...I just want to dive right into your life. I can't even tell you how much I love this entire thing. :)

  11. It is so bad when you think you didn't eat that much, but then you sit down and try to do the math. I know I baked 5 pies over the weekend, and I know there are only 3 pie eaters in my house, and I know there were no pies left Monday.

It is a good thing I'm terrible at math!

  15. So glad you had an enjoyable holiday. And very nice of you to shoulder the "pie burden" for your Mom. I'm certain she was most grateful.

  16. I feel your pain... The job of finishing the pumpkin pie from Thanksgiving fell on me. My husband did not help at all, the jerk.

  17. Hello, cute boots! Hello, sweet pup!

And, um, 1.333 pies per person seems perfectly reasonable to me.
