There's a new cat in town

As I write this there is a fluffy small black cat on my lap. She's kneading at the lap top keys, blissfully unaware that tonight her little kitty life is going to change forever.

She is no longer going to be the spoiled only child in this house. Introducing our new (still unnamed) kitty! He is coming home from the Animal Care & Control tonight. And yes, he is a he. So no Mabel or Nell or Gertie or Bess or Violet.

You guys are going to have to watch me like a hawk to ensure this doesn't turn into a forum to post only photos of my kitties. Because its going to be tempting.

  2. What a Cat, capital "C". He needs a grand name, like Wolfgang or Admiral Byrd... those are not cats. Wolf. Bird. Hm. Oh, well, something grand at any rate.

  3. Hi Amy!
I would be careful with the introduction! She might not react well to a new visitor. Most people recommend keeping the cats separated for a bit (http://cats.about.com/cs/catmanagement101/a/introducecats.htm), but I'm not sure if you can do that in your space... but maybe you can keep one cat in the bathroom for an hour or so, then switch them (without letting them see each other), but letting them get used to the new scents before just putting them in the same room together... Good luck!

  6. Amy you are definitely right! The new cat went straight into the bathroom and is going to be there for a few nights, I think.

They both seem curious about each other through the door and no hissing or spitting which is a very very good sign!
